The Denon original disc drive is built with a high-class S.V.H (Suppress Vibration Hybrid) mechanism. All elements of the design are focused on delivering optimal accuracy.

Can the remote of this player control the volume of a Marantz avr ?

I am very interested in the DCD-1700NE. I have heard the DCD-900NE and the resolution was very good but the sound stage was flat (no depth). Is the sound stage deeper and wider with the DCD-1700NE? If so, why (the analog output stage)?

Hello, The DCD-1700NE has been designed to perform at a higher level than the DCD-900NE. How much of a difference will be heard by any individual is very subjective and depedant on a variety of things, including; System balance Speaker placement Connectivity from the CD player to the amplifier/receiver Source material User expectations.

I assume you mean it can play both formats (cd and SACD) and is swtchable between the two?

Correct. There is a button on the front panel of the DCD-1700NE labeled 'Disc layer'. Confirmation of the selected layer appears in the screen once that layer has been read.

Does this player have a usb input to play audio files from?

Hello, The DCD-1700NE is strickly a disc-spinner. Unfortunately, this means there is no USB input. our DCD-900NE will plaback USB files, and if you also want the convenience of SACD playback, our DCD-A110 will check all the boxes mentioned here. https://www.denon.com/en-us/category/cd-players/

Do the sacd players go on sale like the current promotion on receivers? Interested in this product but of course sale prices are a great motivator.

Hello, The current promotion on receivers is for the outgoing models, as they have since been replaced. The DCD-1700NE is a very new addition to our line-up. At some point it may appear as a refurbished item at a reduced price, but it is mere speculation as we can never be sure which models will appear among our refurbished items.

Hello, I recommend doing a soft reset. This involves unplugging your DCD-1700NE from it's power source for 15 minutes and then power-up again. If this does not solve the issue, please contact your dealer for assistance.
