Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Not Only The Sound It's The Quality As Well I have been an audiophile nut since the 1970's and I've used and tried just about everything audio. I had a few Pioneers and A Realistic Lab 400 Turntable. but when I bought my Denon DP-51F turntable in 1982 I couldn't believe the build quality and just how good this turntable sounded compared to every other one I have owned up until then and here it is 40 years later and it still works like the day I took it out of the box. I have never had to have any servicing done on my Denon DP-51F over 40 years now and it still spins at 33 1/3 & 45 rpm without and fluctuation in speed. It came with the DL-60 Cartridge that began to get extremely hard to find so I had since went with the DL-110 cartridge which has a better high frequency response than the DL-60 at around 10kHz more, now at 10-40kHz with the DL-110, as the DL-60 is 20-30kHz. Although I am very careful with my LP collection, and never play any vinyl that is defective in any way, I have never had a Denon stylus fail on me in any way. The DL-110 sounds as good as cartridges up to 3 times the price. With The DL-110 you will hear the tape hiss from the master reels come out in the vinyl the sound is that clean and pure. I will never use another Denon Is all I will ever put on my DP-47F Those who never tried the DL-110 - I promise you will absolutely love this Cartridge! JoJo

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cartridge This is the cartridge i alway return to Denon engeenerd this little cartridge to be able to work on a wide range of turntables, It has a vary open clean and sweet sound that comes vary close to some much pricer compatition and the tiny nude eliptical stylus is one that relly gets deep into the grooves and that there able to use a tip of this quility on a cartridge at this price Is truly amazing as other cartridge lines that use a stylus of this fine cut will charge up to 4 times its price.

Questions

Would the DL-110 MC cartridge work well on a DP-59L with a straight tone arm? If not, which Denon cartridge do you recommend?

Asked by: cuococarlo
Hello, Yes - the DL-110 is a good match for the DP-59L. As a high-output moving coil, the DL-110 can be used with a moving magnet phono stage.

What are the stylus types and the cantilever types on the DL-110, DL-103, and DL-301 MK II cartridges?

Does the guard on the 110 have to be removed (or just pushed up) once installed for balancing. Thinking about this cartridge or one of your others when I get your new 3000n. What a beautiful table.

Asked by: Burr
Hello Burr, The DL-110 is just as happy with the stylus guard raised as it is with it removed. The DP-3000NE is a remarkable turntable. It does need to be heard to be believed. I struggle to find anything to compete with it's speed stability and vibration-reducing prowess in it's price range. It is beautifully finished and a real pleasure to operate and set-up.

Is there a replacement stylus or buyback program for the DL-110? I love it! But its all worn our from so much Miles Davis and Beethoven's 9th.

Asked by: glenT
Hi glenT, Unfortunately, there is no replacement stylus for the DL-110. Replacement stylus' for a moving coil cartridge is a very rare thing. We do not have a buy-back program. Well done for getting the most out your DL-110. We should have them back instock again before long.

Hello, I am upgrading to a DL-110 Cartridge. I have a Phono Stage that has Capacitance Loading settings. My choices for total Capacitance loading with cables are 200pF, 250pF, 300pF and 350pF. Which setting should be used with the DL-110?

Asked by: 70SROCK
Hello, As a high ouput moving coil, the DL-110 works well when set-up as a moving magnet cartridge. If you wish to experiment with capacitance settings, it is recommended to select the setting which sounds best to your ears.

I have. DP-60l and need a new cartridge. Was leaning towards the dl103r but on another forum someone said my tone arm is all wrong for that cartridge. Would the dl-110 be a better choice for this tone arm? Thanks

Asked by: Randall O
Hello, the DL-110 is the recommended choice. The DP60I arm is too low in mass for the DL-103R.

Hi there - I have two old technics 1210 turntables for djing at home. Can these cartridges be used for djing on those turntables?

Asked by: Alix
Hello, If you only plan on your SL-1210 platters rotating clock-wise, then the DL-110 is a fine choice of cartridge for your requirements. If however, you plan to move the platters in both directions, the DL-110 is not recommended, as it was not designed to track in both directions.

I have a DP 60L it is in mint condition, my stylus is a Grace F9E with a ruby stylus. Do you think the DL-110 would be an improvement?

Asked by: kingsrook
If you decide to move on from the grace F9E cartridge I might be interested, supposed to be a good mate for my grace 707 tonearm.
