Questions

Hello Sir, Is this denon will play or decode the below formats H.265 & HEVC (2160p) video format and all latest audio formats 2160p.BluRay.HEVC.DTS-HD.MA.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos & 1080p.12bit.x265.DTS-HD.MA.7.1 Can we use HDD for this denon? Please reply ASAP

Asked by: KRISHNA
Hello, H.265 and HEVC is decoded at the source. The signal received by the AVR-X2800H is passed through to the TV. The AVR-X2800H supports DTS-HD MA, True HD, Dolby Atmos and True HD. The AVR-X2800H will work with a USB thumb drive, but does support a direct feed from a HDD.

Hello. I'm looking for a receiver that can work with two outputs: a projector with surround speakers connected to the receiver; and a TV with its own sound or soundbar through eARC. Can the X2800H do this?

Asked by: 2screensgene
Hello, It sounds like you want an AVR-X3800H, or anything above it in our current range. The AVR-X3800H has a Zone 2 HDMI output - which is what you will need if you want any of the sources connected to your AVR to be sent to a TV which has a Soundbar connected to it (as well as being able to have your projector and main surround set-up operational too).

AVR-X2800H can accept Home 150 as Surround speakers and Home subwoofer through Heos app?

Asked by: trigitalSpain
I dunno about Denons answer, but I would think you should be able to because they straight up market the Home 150’s to be satellite speakers as part of a 5.1 surround sound system… I would ask for a second opinion from their tech support area.

What type of DAC does this receiver have and are there controls for bass, treble and balance?

Asked by: DHabes
Hello, The AVR-X2800H features advanced 32-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog converters on all channels. A nine band graphic EQ is also featured and can be found in the settings section of the On Screen Menu, under 'Audio'. This will allow for a more advanced means of adjusting bass, treble and midrange controls.

Since only 95W is per channel, will it be enough for powering speakers generally used for surround ?. When some speakers are not drawing full 95W in that channel, will the power be directed to the needy speakers ? Will speakers with RMS 150W still work?

Asked by: Karthik
95 watts per channel is enough for small to medium sized rooms. If you have a very large room then you might want to look at separates. You use significantly less power than you would think. The average speaker sensitivity is 90 DB with 1 watt at 1 meter. In order to increase the volume 3 DB you have to double the power. In a small to medium sized room you can reach reference volume levels with less than 50 watts per channel pretty easily. Keep in mind these ratings are with 2 channels driven so the power would be slightly less with 5/7 channels driven at once. Also you would want some extra power to provide good dynamics. Room size and sensitivity ratings is what matters most when looking at power of an AVR. Hope this helps

I’ve bought Denon AVR 2800 in India, and I’m unable to stream video from my Apple 4K TV 3rd generation. Audio is playing, but not the video. Please help me out with the appropriate settings I need to setup. The denon AVR is paired to Epson TW7100 projector

Asked by: RaviTeja
Hello, It could be one of a few things. The AVR-X2800H is essentially a hub in your set-up - or a distibution component. It decodes for the sound in many cases, but with video, it's mostly just passing the signal through. Because of this let's look at your Apple TV device. The settings for Apple TV's video output are worth checking, just in case adjustments need to be made there. As I have no details on how things are connected in your set-up, so I will advise to use a Version 2.1 HDMI cable between Apple TV and the AVR-X2800H. From the AVR-X2800H, you will want an appropriate HDMI cable too. Projectors are often connected with a very long HDMI cable. Anything more than 25 feet and it is recommended to use either an optical HDMI cable or HDMI baluns. Anything less for longer runs and signal transfer can be heavily compromised.

I don’t see anything in your specifications regarding the actual radio receiver. AM/FM? Does it receive radio HD digital channels??

Asked by: Chriscmm
Hello, The AVR-X2800H - like all our other receivers - does have an AM/FM tuner built-in. There is no support for HD Radio - largely because the AVR-X2800H has a HEOS engine built-in. The free HEOS app allows you to access a huge selection of radio stations via your WI-Fi feed through TuneIn Radio. Most radio stations offer an internet feed of their broadcast. For many users this can prove to be a more reliable signal than we are used to with AM/FM broadcasts.
