Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Not Only The Sound It's The Quality As Well I have been an audiophile nut since the 1970's and I've used and tried just about everything audio. I had a few Pioneers and A Realistic Lab 400 Turntable. but when I bought my Denon DP-51F turntable in 1982 I couldn't believe the build quality and just how good this turntable sounded compared to every other one I have owned up until then and here it is 40 years later and it still works like the day I took it out of the box. I have never had to have any servicing done on my Denon DP-51F over 40 years now and it still spins at 33 1/3 & 45 rpm without and fluctuation in speed. It came with the DL-60 Cartridge that began to get extremely hard to find so I had since went with the DL-110 cartridge which has a better high frequency response than the DL-60 at around 10kHz more, now at 10-40kHz with the DL-110, as the DL-60 is 20-30kHz. Although I am very careful with my LP collection, and never play any vinyl that is defective in any way, I have never had a Denon stylus fail on me in any way. The DL-110 sounds as good as cartridges up to 3 times the price. With The DL-110 you will hear the tape hiss from the master reels come out in the vinyl the sound is that clean and pure. I will never use another Denon Is all I will ever put on my DP-47F Those who never tried the DL-110 - I promise you will absolutely love this Cartridge! JoJo

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cartridge This is the cartridge i alway return to Denon engeenerd this little cartridge to be able to work on a wide range of turntables, It has a vary open clean and sweet sound that comes vary close to some much pricer compatition and the tiny nude eliptical stylus is one that relly gets deep into the grooves and that there able to use a tip of this quility on a cartridge at this price Is truly amazing as other cartridge lines that use a stylus of this fine cut will charge up to 4 times its price.

Questions

Hello, Is it possible to mouth this cartridge on a Audio Technica AT-LP120X? Note that the arm height is not adjustable on this TT.

Asked by: Soum
Hello, Yes - the DL-110 is mountable on the arm/headshell of the AT-LP120X. I cannot say what it will do for the vertical tracking angle. If in doubt, it is a good idea to speak with Audio Technica.

Hello, The Linn Basik Plus has a cartridge weight range of 2-10g. The DL-110 weighs 4.8g, so this arm/cartridge match is a very good one.

I have a Denon dp400 turntable with the standard MM cartridge (crummy) I wish to up grade and I'm thinking of the DL110 MC cartridge. I'm currently useing a Mcintosh mac 7200 receiver. Would this be a suitable set up?

Asked by: the big R
Hello, Yes - the DL-110 is a high output moving coil cartridge and is therefore good to go with your system. The DL-110 can be used with a moving magnet phono stage. You may have to turn up the volume a little higher than you are used to with you existing cartridge, but not much higher. That's a good upgrade. Your music will probably sound more enthralling.

I have a 2016 Denon AVR-X4000 with 200 per channel with a DP-400. Will this cartridge work well with the setup. Does the DP-400 headshell work with/look good with this cartridge?

Asked by: X4000
Hello, Yes - the DL-110 is a high output moving coil cartridge and will partner well with the moving magnet phono stage in your AVR-X4000, and is designed to fit nicely to the headshell of your DP-400 turntable arm.

Hello, Which phono stage should be using with DL-110 MM or MC? Thank

Asked by: Chaiwatu
Hello, The DL-110 is a high output Moving Coil cartridge, so it can be used with a Moving Magnet phono stage. Some Moving Coil phono stages are for high output Moving Coils, so it can be used with those too. Moving Coil phono stages can vary quite a lot from one model to another, depending on the settings they offer.

Does it work on shellac 78 rpm?

Asked by: EmilioKiara
Hello, Unfortunately, none of our cartridges are compatible with 78 shellac playback. The groove of an LP is much narrower than the groove of a 78 rpm record. Therefore, you will need a specific cartridge for playing 78s. LP Gear (online store) have a selection of cartridges which support the playback of 78 rpm records.
