Questions

I just purchased a vintage Denon DP-62L turntable. It has 2 tonearms (strait and s curved). Which arm would be suitable for the DL-103R?

Asked by: 1Happyman
Hello. The DP-62L's stock arm was built with the DL-103 in mind (straight or curved wand). With the DL-103R you are good to go as it's critical spec's are the same as the DL-103 (the DL-103R has more refined copper wiring). As for which wand to use - it's really down to your own preference. Both are up to the task.

Would the dl-103r be a good match for my Yamaha gt2000l with a tonearm, including the headshell, weight of 22gm. Thank you

Asked by: Brad11
Hello, The DL-103R is happiest on a medium to high mass tonearm. As we have no details of the GT2000I at hand, we suggest contacting Yamaha for more information on the tonearm mass of their GT2000I.

I looking for a new moving coil cartridge for my Deon 11f?

Asked by: Willis84
Hello, Unfortunately, thre DL-103R is a little heavy (8g) for the arm on the DP-11F. 4-6g is recommended, which means the DL-110 or the DL-301MKII would qualify. The DL-301MKII does require a phono pre-amp which supports a low output moving coil cartridge, whereas the DL-110 (a high oputput moving coil) works well when fed into a moving magnet phono pre-amp.

I have a DP-755 with a SME 3009 series III. I’m wanting to purchase a moving coil cartridge. I will also need a SUT. Looking for recommendations.

Asked by: Tommy2516
Hello, Without adding significant mass to your SME, the DL-103R would not be a great match for the low-mass 3009. Being a medium compliance cartridge, our DL-301MKII would be a better fit - especially if you have the 3009-R which is a moderate mass tonearm. As we no longer manufacture step-up transformers, we are unable to make any recommendations, as we have not tested any SUTs from alternative brands.

Hi. I would like to know which of the Denon cartridges matches best with the SME 309 tonearm.

Asked by: rockinjoep
Hello, Good question. This depends on a couple of things; whether you determine cartridge matching by ear, or by spec's. In our experience, the two do not always agree. If you match based on spec's, I suggest using the DL-301MKII as the DL-301MKII is a medium compliance cartridge and the SME 309 is a medium mass tonearm. Our other cartridges are lower compliance devices. If you are more of a judge-by-performance audio enthusiast, then you are probably aware that what sounds right to one person may not sound right to someone else - therefore it's too subjective for someone to make such a recommendation with any hope of the pairing being just right for your system/expectations/sonic desires.

I am looking at purchasing a vintage Scott PS67A ( made by Micro Seike) will fit?

Asked by: Mcstin
Hello, It probably will, but it does depend on which arm is on the PS67A. Being as only pre-owned models of the PS67A are available, there's always a chance an aftermarket tonearm has been fitted to any given example. The good news is the DL-103R will fit the vast majority of tonearms/headshells typically found on a turntable of this quality.

Received my DL-103R cartridge. What ohm impedance setting am I to use for phono preamp? Large instructions say "Load impedance: 100 ohm". There is also a small paper tucked in the cartridge holder (has graph on it) that says: Load: 47k ohm. Please advise.

Asked by: DKR1881
Hello, The recommended load impedance setting on your phono pre-amp for the DL-103R is 100 ohms.
