PMA-600NE

Add power to your Hi-Fi experience

PMA-600NE

Add power to your Hi-Fi experience

Engineered with remarkable Denon amplifier technology, the PMA-600NE delivers 70 Watts of power-per-channel. This integrated amplifier offers compatibility with the widest range of speaker types and impedances for operational stability.

Experience high-resolution audio playback to enjoy the highest quality of your favorite songs

The PMA-600NE includes a phono equalizer that supports playing from sources with a MM cartridge. This phono equalizer has high gain, and unlike loops in other circuit board patterns which cause adverse effects on sound quality, the simple, straightforward design, significantly improves sound.

To eliminate interference and maintain exceptional sound quality, the transformer has separate coiled wires for audio and control circuits.

Key Technologies

  • HI-Res Audio The ability to decode Hi-Res Audio ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192-kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks (SACD) lets you enjoy each note exactly as the artist intended.
  • Prude Direct Mode Pure Direct mode turns the display and the digital outputs off to minimize interference that might color the audio signal. What you hear is clean, detailed, accurate sound.
  • Advanced circuitry The circuit patterns have been engineered to make signal paths as short as possible, reducing interference to reproduce sound that’s clean, highly transparent, and faithful to the original recording.
  • MM-Phono Denon Moving Magnet (MM) phono preamps feature a high-precision equalizer circuit to restore the warmth and natural sound of vinyl, and a low-noise signal path for improved fidelity.
  • Bluetooth Connect and play music directly from your smartphone, tablet or other compatible device

Tailor your sound with complete connectivity & control

Every element of a Denon product is thoughtfully crafted to deliver an unforgettable audio experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amp up your day with this one! Very nice amp, especially for the price. I did not need any of the bells and government surveillance whistles (think ALEXA people) that the next model up had. GREAT DAC, and nice touch with the analog options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am very happy I have 2 of them in a passive bi amp setup with Fluance's reference speakers and it sounds fantastic. These amps have everything I wanted. Real buttons to contol volume and tone, lots of inputs, analog and direct mode, bluetooth, DAC, and nice look. The remote is too big and lack bass and treble controls but other than that it is a great integrated amp and very capable of delevering good sound. Having 2 of them in bi amp is amazing, lots of power reserve. I recommend this amp 100%

Questions

I have a Dennon AVR -s920w… will this be compatible as an additional amplifier?

Asked by: Boone
Hello, Unfortunately, neither the AVR-S920W or the PMA-600NE are designed to be used with, or as additional amplification.

I paired Denon PMA 600NE with Debut Reference (DBR62). Earlier, I used Debut B6.2. Sound was lively even with "Source Direct" on. With DBR62, I turn treble to almost full & bass to 1 o'clock to get lively sound. Will different Denon model work better?

Asked by: SumitDas76
Hello, Bass and treble controls on the PMA-600NE are not functional when in 'Source Direct' mode. It is possible you will hear sonic differences when pairing the DBR62s with different Denon amplifiers. It will depend on how the ampliifers respond to your speakers and what your expectations might be. Sound is very subjective, and because of this it isn't fair for us to try to predict how any amplifier/speaker combination will be heard by someone else's ears.

I have an SSD with FLAC/WAV files. How can I send the songs to the Denon PMA 600NE so that the decoding is done by the Denon DAC. I don't want any other DAC processing the music before the Denon DAC processes the music.

Asked by: SumitDas76
Hello, To playback your music files, you will need a source which supports the actual playback of these files and has a coaxial digital output. The DCD-900NE is a good example of such a device. If you transfer your files to a USB thumb drive, the DCD-900NE can read the files and allow you to select what you want to hear. When connected to the PMA-600NE with a coaxial interconnect, the digital to analog decoding will be done within the PMA-600NE. https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/cd-players/dcd-900ne/300514.html

Can you use bluetooth headphones with the PMA600NE for listening?

Asked by: RBG3
Hello, As the PMA-600NE has only a Bluetooth receiver, a external transmitter would need to be added for use of Bluetooth headphones. External Bluetooth transmitters are easily found on electronics specialist websites.

Will the amp turn on automatically from standby for any other input source then bluetooth? I'm specifically interested in this for the optical input.

Asked by: OoAa
Hello, The PMA-600NE does not switch on with the optical input source selection (or other source buttons). You would need to reach for the power button first. Alternatively, optional after market universal remote controls with a macro feature (the ability to send multiple commands to one or multiple devices with one touch) can be added.

My (very old) Luxman amp is dying. Will the 600NE drive my (very old) MB Quart 650 speakers in a medium room?

Asked by: Classical Steve
Hello, Without knowing which model MB Quart speakers you have, it's not easy to be certain. The PMA-600NE is a high current design however, so it is very possible the pairing will be successful if your room isn't huge and you aren't trying to rattle the neighbor's windows.

Hi ! Does the balance knob adjust the headphones L/R balance or it works only with speakers? Thanks!

Asked by: Nick425
Hello, The balance control will be functional for both the speakers and also for the headphones. The PMA-600NE will power either speakers or headphones, but not both simultaneously.

2 questions: Which input do you recommend using for a phono tube preamp? Are there any particular specs you recommend when shopping for pre-amps to use with the PMA-600NE?

Asked by: Mario S
Hi Mario S, Any line input which is not labeled 'phono' is recommended for an external phono pre-amp. Avoiding the use of the phono input is what is most important when using an external phono pre-amp. Any external phono pre-amp will work well with the PMA-600NE. Matching the cartridge to the pre-amp is what can make or break the overall performance of LP playback. Your dealer, or the cartridge/phono pre-amp manufacurer can assist with which cartridges will work best with your phono pre-amp.
