Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I didn’t know it was refurbished. I thought it was brand new. Anyway I really like this unit. It replaces an Onkyo which had a lot of problems. This Denon is trouble free so far. I really like the Audyssey set up software. The unit sounds great with both movies and music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from X3700 good product and price. Previously owned Denon AVR-S370h and served well with previous 1080p video technology. Upgraded to 4K video tech and also Denon AVR-X3700h receiver. Beside full video pass thru from Apple 4K TV, new receiver supports 7 ch ATMOS audio, BT transmission, and several other features I had bought third party addons. For the price, I think this is a great small house product. I did have to contact product support during setup with Harmony Elite controller. Individual was knowledgeable and returned call when had to research an resolution. Would recommend Denon to those who want more than just a Sound Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy 😃 Another great receiver from Denon! This was a replacement for an older Denon 7.1 network receiver that still works great! Very happy with the new sound technology.

Questions

My Front front left height is now very muffled and has no treble. I know it's not the speaker since I can switch the cables on the back for the front right height and the issue switches to the speaker that was just fine. What can I do?

Asked by: safetyscissors
Hello, Sorry to hear of this. I suggest running Audyssey again. If that doesn't clear-up the issue, I recommend doing a soft reset as it might work in this instance. This involves unplugging your AVR-X3700H from it's power source, leaving it that way for at least 15 minutes, then plugging it back in again. If the matter isn't resolved after running Audyssey again and doing a soft resset, here is a link to our Product Support Team. They are on hand to assist: https://www.denon.com/en-us/support/contact-us.html

My current system consists of one pair of Front speakers, one single Center speaker, one pair of Surround speakers and two pairs of height (ceiling) speakers (for Dolby Atmos). Is it possible to hook them all up to the Denon AVR-X3700H?

Asked by: Tin0209
Hello, Yes - the AVR-X3700H is fully equipped to support one pair of front speakers, a center speaker, one pair of surround speakers and two pairs of height (ceiling) speakers for Dolby Atmos.

Exactly how would I connect speakers to terminals for a 5.2.4 system. I understand the center, front and subs but others I'm not sure about. Thank you

Asked by: Jeffcampbell375
Hello, If you are looking at ceiling speakers, the configuration you mention is referred to as a combination of 5.1-channel layout and top front/top rear speakers. In the Amp Assign screen you will select 9.1 (when you connect two sub-woofers the system will deliver accordingly so you will have 5.2.4 instead of 5.1.4. The sub-woofer pre-outs are always active) The diagram second from the top of the page in the link illustrates the set-up: https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX3700H/NA/EN/DRDZSYeosolrjl.php# You will then select 'Height' to 'Height SP 4 channel': https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX3700H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php#DRDZMLwkekzqtf Top Front & Top Rear

I noticed the back panel has 11 channels even though it is a 9.2 system.  I have my room wired for a 7.2 system with 4 additional atmos speakers in the ceiling.  Would this receiver work to power all 11 speakers?

Asked by: Jwall
Hi Jwall, Because the AVR-X3700H has nine powered channels, at least a 2 channel external power amplifier would need to be added to your set-up in order to allow for a 7.2.4 configuration.

Can you access Sirius XM on the reciever and if so how? Thanks

Asked by: Mnelson
Hello, The AVR-X3700H has a HEOS engine built-in. After downloading the free HEOS app, you can access many popular streaming services, including Sirius XM. Select the Sirius XM link within the app, and once you have signed-in you will have access to Sirius XM.

Is there an available rack mount kit for this unit, or would a 4U generic shelf suffice?

Asked by: BuzzHazz
Hello, The rack mount kit for the AVR-X3700H has the model number; RMR3313. This would need to be ordered through an authorized Denon dealer.

Can this receiver pass through surround formats over the zone 2 HDMI output or is it limited to 2 channels? I've read the manual and this is unclear. If so, should the "through" or "PCM" setting be used? If not, would any other models support this?

Asked by: DrDetroit
Hello, With 'Zone 2 Setup', it allows you to set how the Zone 2 signal processes within the AVR. You can set to Pass Through or PCM. Pass Through will simply pass the native signal "through" the AVR untouched. PCM down mixes the native signal to 2 channel for redistribution to Z2 speakers or the Z2 pre-out.  When the power of the AVR-X3700H is on and 'HDMI Audio Out' is set to 'TV', audio is output as 2-channel from the HDMI OUT connector..

i HAVE A 7.1 SPEAKER HOOKUP IN MY HOME I ALSO HAVE A SET OF WIRED OUTDOOR SPEAKERS. CAN I HAVE ONE SOURCE RUNNING TO THE INDOOR SPEAKERS RETAINING MY 7.1 SOUND AND OTHER SOURCE SIMULTANEOUSLY RUNNING SOUND FROM A SEPARATE SOURCE TO THE OUTDOOR SPEAKERS

Asked by: CHUCK 1925
Hi Chuck 1925, The AVR-X3700H does allow for use of Zone 2 speakers to play a different source from the Main Zone. In most cases we recommend playing either the Main Zone or Zone 2, but not simultaneously. The exception being if all your speakers prove to be an easy load for the AVR-X3700H. Alternatively, you can add a power amplifier to connect to the Zone 2 pre-outs. This will allow for comfortable simultaneous Main Zone and Zone 2 operation.
