Is the X2800X compatible with a Bose Acoustimass 10 Series 4 speaker system? (5 surround speakers+center) If not, suggestion? Thank You

Asked by: RLV3202
Hello, While the AVR-X2800H will drive your Bose AM10s, my recommendation is to consider the AVR-X3800H. The AM10s (with the Bass Module) are not known for being the easiest of loads. The AVR-X3800H not only has more advanced power supplies to allow it to cope with a wider range of speaker load, but it also has a full bank of pre-outs. If ever you wish to add external power amplification, the pre-outs make for a significantly impactful upgrade path which doesn't require you to replace your AVR. In short, the AVR-X2800H will be good, but the AVR-X3800H will be better with a set of AM10s.

I have three front speakers (left, center, right) connected via cable to the x2800h. I would like to buy two wireless rear speakers because my setup doesn’t allow for audio cables from rear to the AVR. Is this possible? Which rear speakers should I buy?

Asked by: Benconomist
Hello, Unfortunately - as with all the speakers for the main zone, the rear speakers will need to be hard-wired to the AVR-X2800H. There are aftermarket wireless kits which can operate in the way you describe, but as we haven't tested any of them, we are unable to make any recommendations. The optional wireless Home speakers which are supported by the AVR-X2800H's HEOS engine work only with a 2 channel source feed and are therefore typically used on other rooms of the home.

I don't see some settings my new Denon AVR-X2800H (Small Large speakers etc.) What i doing wrong?

Asked by: Mickey38501
Hello, Small or Large is determined by the X-Over setting. During setup, once the HZ is set to anything other than Full-Rang, the speaker's graphics will change to small. In the Setup menu, go to Speakers>Manual Setup>Crossovers. Here, crossover adjustments can be made to each individual channel from Full-Range (Large) or 40, 60, 80 Hz, and more. 40Hz and above is considered Small. - https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX2800H/EU/EN/GFNFSYitmloggd.php

When running the system at 70 volume for over 2 minutes, the volume gradually decreases on it's own. Also, I have the volume settings at max, yet sometimes the system will only allow 78.

Asked by: JBKARES
Hello, It sounds as though your AVR is receiving commands from outside sources. I recommend disengaging the CEC (HDMI Control) feature in the menu of your VR, and of any other components in your system. Here is a link on how this is done: https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX2800H/NA/EN/GFNFSYkabkahie.php Or follow this sequence in your AVR's on screen menu: Settings > Video > HDMI set-up > HDMI Control > On/Off
