Rated 5 out of 5 by from For When You Want One Real Step Better in Audio I'm not a proper audiophile, I live in a 1BR condo and simply wanted something to give my TV's sound some actual weight. This unit not only meets that standard, but it works with my PS4 and my phone's bluetooth to produce some delicious audio. Even at lower volumes, the DHT-S216 makes a big impression, and when I dare turn it up it's like I'm wrapped in sound. I can listen to it in the next room okay, but it doesn't carry much beyond that, thus I'd call it a one-room wonder. This may not be enough for some people, but for my circumstances it's a great machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor packaging Great product. You need to put the speaker box in a second shipping box. Box was damaged. Styrofoam packing saved speaker.

My Denon DHT-216 soundbar is not found by my desktop HP Pavillon 32. Both devices are on, connected via HDMI. How to make my pc find the soundbar, and set it to default device, using HDMI ? Bluetooth works but lag a little.

Asked by: Chatelet303
Hello, The DHT-216 is designed to work via HDMI ARC and may present these issues when used with a monitor that does not support ARC. Very rarely do computers have ARC capabilities. For this setup, we can recommend that you use a 3.5mm (AKA Aux cable) for audio from your PC to your sound bar. This will work great, no lag, no dropouts, and the cable itself is inexpensive for whatever length you may need.

Is it possible to combine the S216 sound bar with Bluetooth speakers to get true surround sound? If so what would I need to do so? The sound bar is currently connected via HDMI to my TV.

Asked by: RayC
Hello, Unfortunately, the DHT-S216 does not support the use of wireless rear speakers.

Hi Denon team I have 216 soundbar it's work on music very well but the workings in movies time it's not working proper 3d surrounded

Asked by: Ikbal
Hello, If you have your DHT-S216 Soundbar connected to your TV with an HDMI cable or an optical cable, double-check to make sure your TV's digital Audio output is switched to 'Bitstream'. If you have an analog cable connecting your Soundbar to your TV, your TV's digital Audio Output needs to be set to 'PCM'. You also have bottons on your remote control which allow you to select specific sound modes.

Hi denon team .yesterday i buy denon dth-217 soundbar its amazing sound.but subwoofer out not working. how to fix or how to connect

Asked by: Karthick G
Hello, The DHT-S217 does not come with a sub-woofer and therefore requires a powered sub-woofer to be added. If you have an external powered sub-woofer, it would need to be connected to the sub-woofer port on the rear panel of the DHT-S217 using a single plug RCA interconnect. If you have all this in place with your sub-woofer powered-up and you still have no sub-woofer response, it would be a good idea to speak with your Denon dealer for further assistance. Other than Dolby Atmos support, what is the difference between the S216 and the S217? I'm mainly interested in using it as a computer bluetooth speaker, playing music. Atmos support not required. Are they the same physical drivers and wattage/power?

Asked by: LucasB
Hello, Yes - the two main differences between the two models is the DHT-S217 has Dolby Atmos support and it uses a 2.1 speaker system instead of the 2.0 system found in the DHT-S216.

I currently have a HEOS Home Cinema 033HEOSHC in my den. Will this soundbar link up with that one? For example to play music in both rooms.

Asked by: Kenchy
Hello, Because the DHT-S216 is not a HEOS enabled Soundbar, these particular two devices do not connect. If you wish to connect wirelessly to another device to play the same music in two different rooms, our 550 Soundbar or any of our Home Speakers can achieve this for you. I am getting pic/sound sync issues which I can’t resolve thru sky/tv. I have tv to sound bar to skyQ box. How best should I connect all 3 to eliminate the lag.

Asked by: RobieDobbie
Hi RobieDobbie, The recommended way to connect your three components is to have the skyQ box connected to your TV via HDMI, then connect your TV to the Soundbar via HDMI using the TV's ARC or eARC HDMI port.
