Add power to your Hi-Fi experience

Engineered with remarkable Denon amplifier technology, the PMA-600NE delivers 70 Watts of power-per-channel. This integrated amplifier offers compatibility with the widest range of speaker types and impedances for operational stability.

Experience high-resolution audio playback to enjoy the highest quality of your favorite songs

The PMA-600NE includes a phono equalizer that supports playing from sources with a MM cartridge. This phono equalizer has high gain, and unlike loops in other circuit board patterns which cause adverse effects on sound quality, the simple, straightforward design, significantly improves sound.

To eliminate interference and maintain exceptional sound quality, the transformer has separate coiled wires for audio and control circuits.

Key Technologies

  • HI-Res Audio The ability to decode Hi-Res Audio ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192-kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks (SACD) lets you enjoy each note exactly as the artist intended.
  • Bluetooth Connect and play music directly from your smartphone, tablet or other compatible device
  • Advanced circuitry The circuit patterns have been engineered to make signal paths as short as possible, reducing interference to reproduce sound that’s clean, highly transparent, and faithful to the original recording.
  • MM-Phono Denon Moving Magnet (MM) phono preamps feature a high-precision equalizer circuit to restore the warmth and natural sound of vinyl, and a low-noise signal path for improved fidelity.
  • Prude Direct Mode Pure Direct mode turns the display and the digital outputs off to minimize interference that might color the audio signal. What you hear is clean, detailed, accurate sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy I'm very happy with my PMA-600NE. I have it paired with Q Acoustic 3030i speakers and Project pro via ifi Zen phono preamp and wiim pro stremer. I also did initially have it connected to Schiit modi dac but A B teated it with internal DAC in PMA-600NE and I could hear any difference so I just now use internal DAC in the denon. Sounds clean and plays loud when I want it too. If I could make minor criticisms, all I would say is I wish visible decibels could be viewed when adjusting volume. I also would have preferred analogue inputs not to have been pre labelled, AUX 1, AU2 etc would have been better. I feel that many people would have liked EQ to been able to be adjusted via remote, especially considering there is a million buttons on remote that have no function at all. However, I don't really care about these things, as overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended. Also, I should add that I replaced my AXA35 with the PMA-600NE, despite having paying more for the Cambridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amp up your day with this one! Very nice amp, especially for the price. I did not need any of the bells and government surveillance whistles (think ALEXA people) that the next model up had. GREAT DAC, and nice touch with the analog options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am very happy I have 2 of them in a passive bi amp setup with Fluance's reference speakers and it sounds fantastic. These amps have everything I wanted. Real buttons to contol volume and tone, lots of inputs, analog and direct mode, bluetooth, DAC, and nice look. The remote is too big and lack bass and treble controls but other than that it is a great integrated amp and very capable of delevering good sound. Having 2 of them in bi amp is amazing, lots of power reserve. I recommend this amp 100%

Questions

After many years my DENON Amplifier PMA-500AE has died - a couple years ago I bought a new CD player Denon DCD-520AE - which of the Amplifier models currently available would be the best replacement and compatible with my CD player - thanks in advance

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, All our integrated amplifiers are equally compatible with your DCD-520AE CD player. In our current line-up, the PMA-600NE is most similar to the PMA-500AE. The next model up from the PMA-600NE is the PMA-900HNE. The big differences are the PMA-900HNE has a higher current output (allowing it to be compatible with a considerably wider range of loudspeakers), offers more power, and also has a HEOS engine built-in. The HEOS engine means you can stream from many popular services (including Spotify, Tidal, Amazon HD, Pandora, TuneIn Radio), and also pair the amplifier with any of our optional wireless Home speakers (which can be located in up to 32 other zone locations in your home). I'm getting a SVS subwoofer to for my PMA-600NE, will the it control volume on the sub? Will both digital and analogue inputs all send signal through to subwoofer?

Asked by: Dan Ez
Hello, Yes - the PMA-600NE's volume dial controls the subwoofer output feed as well as the speakers, with both digital and analog sources.

I've been a happy owner of the PMA-600NE for a couple of years now. Recently, I purchased a recorder and when I hooked it up, I found that the REC OUT lines are not working. I thought it might be an issue with the cables, nothing. What's wrong?

Asked by: MarielA
Hi MarieIA, Sorry to learn of this symptom with your PMA-600NE. Some trouble-shooting is required to help resolve the issue therefore, I will need to put you in touch with our Product Support Team. Here is a link with their contact details: https://www.denon.com/en-us/support/contact-us.html

Hi, I just got this amplifier but the Sansuis I was planning on pairing it with are gone. So I was thinking about going with a pair of Klipsch KG4, but they are 6 oms. Would this be ok for this amplifier or is it better to go with an option that's 8?

Asked by: Alvarodelval2
Hello, The PMA-600NE is well equipped to handle a 4, 6, 8 or 16 ohm load. The Klipsch KG4 will work well with the PMA-600NE.

I am trying to decide between the pma 600 ne and dra 800 h. I already have a streaming device which I also run TV audio through with excellent results but my amp is no longer performing as it should. Which has better music delivery?

Asked by: Dbh116
Hello, Without knowing which speakers are being driven. the best I can offer is; overall, the PMA-600NE is better equipped to drive a wider range of - at least reasonably sensitive - speakers (those with a sensitivity rating of 87 dB or more) as it has a higher current delivery and therefore will handle tougher speaker loads. As it does not include all the video functionality of the DRA-800H, the PMA-600NE has a much less complex pre-amplifier stage, which results in a shorter and purer signal path. This generally proves to be sonically beneficial.

I'm thinking about pairing this amplifier PMA-600NE with a pair of Sansui SP-2500 speakers. These speakers have a peak power rating of 80W. Is this ok for the 70W of the amplifier, considering that the speakers probably have 55W (RMS)? Thank you, Alvaro

Asked by: Alvarodelval
Hello, Yes - this pairing should work well if your Sansui's are running close to spec. After a few decades, the materials used to construct your SP-2500s are likely to be a little more delicate than when new - keeping the volume levels from being too spirited is recommended. The reason for the advised caution is also because the 'when new' sensitivity of the SP-2500s is quite high, so they will probably go loud without too much encouragement.

When the subwoofer out connection is used on this amplifier, what is the frequency range of the signal sent to the main speaker outputs? Is there any change in the signal sent to the speaker terminals if a subwoofer is or is not connected?

Asked by: LBGordon
No. This IA does not have 'bass management' and therefore, the speaker out terminals are unaffected as the sub out is stand alone.

Hi, Can I connect a laptop to the PMA-600NE via RCA ports? I have flac files on a old laptop without bluetooth. If I can, how? (which connection out of the laptop and where in the amp? Thank you

Asked by: Zazouiu
Hello, If your laptop has a headphone output (most do), you only need a cable with a 3.5 mm jack at one end (for the laptop) and RCA plugs at the other (for the PMA-600NE). From there you just need to make sure you connect it to any analog input on the rear of the PMA-600NE which isn't marked as 'Phono'.
