Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at a great price Beautiful sound. I had to throw out my old turntable from the 80s. This was easy to install and fits in the old cabinet and hooks up with my old amplifier. Now I can listen again to my 70s albums!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and use, decent sound My VPI needs some shop time, so I tried one of these with the intention of gifting it once I get my main rig back. At this price point, there is absolutely nothing to complain about with this Denon. Setup is easy. With built-in preamp, it can be used with anything. Turn the preamp on and use with powered speakers, sound bar, or home theater receiver. Turn off preamp to use with components that have their own phono preamp built-in. Put a record on, push start, and go. Unit automatically returns arm to rest, and shuts off at the end of a record. Or just hit "stop" if you're done listening at any point. Can't be any easier than that. I had no complaints about the sound. It is not a Linn Sondeck, and I didn't expect it to sound like one. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good it DID sound. Nice full, clean sound. I would advise this unit for anyone not in the market for an expensive turntable, or wants to avoid the cheap record players. Definitely a decent value.

Questions

Do I need an amplifier for this to work with Polk signature series speakers?

Asked by: JohnQ
Hello, Yes - Polk Audio's Signature Series speakers are passive loudspeakers and therefore an amplifier would be required.

I selected that I wanted USB output in the help me choose denon turntable site and DP-29f cane up as an option but I do not see that it has this capability. Am I missing something or is this a glitch in the selection program?

Asked by: LenP
Hi LenP, It does sound a lot like a glitch in the system. Apologies for the confusion. Here is a link to the DP-450USB, which is the turntable we currently offer with a USB port: https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/turntables/dp-450usb/137239.html?dwvar_137239_color=Black

Is it possible to make my DP-29F bluetooth with an adapter?

Asked by: Isaac
Hi Isaac, Yes - the DP-29F has a built-in phono pre-amp allowing for a line level output to a Bluetooth transmitter/transceiver. Bluetooth transmitters/transceivers are available from outlets such as Amazon. Not all such Bluetooth devices have an analog input (required). Those which do may need a cable adaptor.

Some how in moving my DP 29F (apparently through carelessness) the stylus was broken. Is there a replacement or do I need to replace the turntable?

Asked by: Holly
Hello Holly, Yes - a replacement stylus can be found without having to replace the turntable. They are easy to remove and replace. If you carefully hold the stylus from the sides as you glide it away from its mount to remove it, it should comply without much resistance. I recommend practicing with the broken stylus if in doubt. A new stylus can be found at LP Gear's website. If you insert the DP-29F's stylus' product code in their search bar, you will find the part you need. The product code is DENONSTDP0029F

Is the turntable stackable

Asked by: Popskpy
Hello, It depends on what you mean by stackable. It does not allow you to 'load' more than one LP at a time. If you are talking about placement, it isn't ideal for any turntable to sit on top of any other audio component because of how susceptible they are to micro-vibrations and magnetic or radio frequency interference. Turntables are happier when on their own platform, and are best kept at least 12 inches away from loudspeakers. Turntables do not do well when housed on the same platform as speakers or a sub-woofer. That being said, many people do place their turntable on top of other components and say they are quite happy with the arrangement.

Hi, I have been using this for last 4 years now. Definitely happy with it but considering an upgrade for better listening pleasure. Would you suggest switching the stylus (if it is possible) or just get DP-300 or 400?

Asked by: Gopinath
Hi Gopinath, Either way would yield sonic gains, but I would suggest upgrading the turntable first. The DP-300F and in particular the DP-400 will not only offer a better playback experience with their improved plinths (to reduce interference from micro-vibrations) and upgraded tonearm (especially with the DP-400), but they will both give you more flexibility when you choose to upgrade the stylus, and the benefits it will bring. The better the table, the more the table allows the cartridge to deliver what it was designed to do.

Will this fit into a 14 inch by 15 inch space? I have an old record player that was broken but I want to use this inside it. In order for that to work, it’s got to fit into a 14by15 inch space.

Asked by: KayLo
