Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I didn’t know it was refurbished. I thought it was brand new. Anyway I really like this unit. It replaces an Onkyo which had a lot of problems. This Denon is trouble free so far. I really like the Audyssey set up software. The unit sounds great with both movies and music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from X3700 good product and price. Previously owned Denon AVR-S370h and served well with previous 1080p video technology. Upgraded to 4K video tech and also Denon AVR-X3700h receiver. Beside full video pass thru from Apple 4K TV, new receiver supports 7 ch ATMOS audio, BT transmission, and several other features I had bought third party addons. For the price, I think this is a great small house product. I did have to contact product support during setup with Harmony Elite controller. Individual was knowledgeable and returned call when had to research an resolution. Would recommend Denon to those who want more than just a Sound Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy 😃 Another great receiver from Denon! This was a replacement for an older Denon 7.1 network receiver that still works great! Very happy with the new sound technology.

What exactly does refurbished mean from Denon? What is the warranty on this refurbished unit?

Asked by: Doug6
Hello, A refurbished component could be a product which found it's way back to us courtesy of our 60 day in-home trial. Otherwise it could be and item we removed from it's box for a marketing shoot, or even one of those rare occasions where the product had a defect and we brought it back to factory specification again. Refurbished items allow us to offer the chance of a means to save for those who don't mind if the box has previously been opened. We include all the original accessories. Here is a link to the details on how our refurbished items are covered under warranty: https://downloads.denon.com/documentmaster/us/webwarrhome-b-stock-us-dec11_04.pdf

Can I connect a 5.1.4 system and Zone 2? I know the unit will only power 9 channels at a time. My current receiver automatically shuts off the front ceiling speakers when I turn on Zone 2. Does this unit have a similar feature? Thanks

Asked by: Chuck 63
Hello, This unit does support multi zone playback at the same time and should not shut off any front speakers when activating another zone. All Zone Stereo mode will only play out of the Front Left and Front Right speakers for each zone. With the HEOS functionality you can also group any HEOS speakers to playback music in multiple rooms at once. If this issue happens with this receiver you can reach out to our support team so we can properly troubleshoot it with you and fix this issue.

I would like to do a 7.2.4 setup. I have powered monitors for my front, surround, and rear; passive for my height and center. Is it possible to configure the 3700H to use pre-outs for the powered monitors while using the speaker terminals for height?

Asked by: Nobody
Hello Nobody, Yes - it's easily done. Both the speaker ports and the pre-outs become active the moment you cannect something to them. In the Amp Assign screen, you will need it set to 11.1 (which also works for 11.2 because the sub-woofer pre-outs are the same feed) Settings > Manual set-up > Amp Assign. .https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX3700H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php

I want to add 2 rear height speakers for an 9.2.4 setup. I have a Denon HEOS Amp. Can I use this as the amp for the extra channels?

Asked by: MyNameHereToo
Hello, With the AVR-X3700H, any speakers used in the Main Zone in the surround set-up would need to be hard-wired to the speaker ports on the rear panel. Wireless HEOS components do not support discrete surround sound channel feeds.

My Front front left height is now very muffled and has no treble. I know it's not the speaker since I can switch the cables on the back for the front right height and the issue switches to the speaker that was just fine. What can I do?

Asked by: safetyscissors
Hello, Sorry to hear of this. I suggest running Audyssey again. If that doesn't clear-up the issue, I recommend doing a soft reset as it might work in this instance. This involves unplugging your AVR-X3700H from it's power source, leaving it that way for at least 15 minutes, then plugging it back in again. If the matter isn't resolved after running Audyssey again and doing a soft resset, here is a link to our Product Support Team. They are on hand to assist: https://www.denon.com/en-us/support/contact-us.html

Exactly how would I connect speakers to terminals for a 5.2.4 system. I understand the center, front and subs but others I'm not sure about. Thank you

Asked by: Jeffcampbell375
Hello, If you are looking at ceiling speakers, the configuration you mention is referred to as a combination of 5.1-channel layout and top front/top rear speakers. In the Amp Assign screen you will select 9.1 (when you connect two sub-woofers the system will deliver accordingly so you will have 5.2.4 instead of 5.1.4. The sub-woofer pre-outs are always active) The diagram second from the top of the page in the link illustrates the set-up: https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX3700H/NA/EN/DRDZSYeosolrjl.php# You will then select 'Height' to 'Height SP 4 channel': https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX3700H/NA/EN/DRDZSYasydxfyy.php#DRDZMLwkekzqtf Top Front & Top Rear
