Do you recommend the DL-103R for a Denon DP-47F turntable? How well matched would this cartridge be with the tonearm of the DP-47F?

Asked by: BobOh
Hello, Yes - the DL-103R will work well with a DP-47F. A phono pre-amp capable of handling a low-output moving coil cartridge will be required.

I have a dl 103R and a dl301 MK II. I love both cartridges but am wondering if Denon might not reintroduce the dl304 or the dl S1 cartridges one day as these were both fantastic cartridges for those of us that want to move to an even higher level.

Asked by: Soulsetter
Hello, I have nothing listed for this to happen anytime soon.

Why doesn't Denon sell spare stylus guards for Denon 103 phono pickups? These things are easily lost or misplaces. I know several owners who would love to be able to find these.

Asked by: pseydor
Hello, We're pleased you see the value in the stylus guard as we are proud to offer this protection free with our DL-103. Many cartridges on the market come without a stylus guard.

Is the 103r high output or low output? Paper that came with cart says 47k but recommended is 100 min. My pre (Jeff Rowland) has selection for Hi Output 47k. Should I use this setting?

Asked by: DavidH
Hi DavidH, The DL-103R is a low output moving coil cartridge. If you do not have a phono pre-amp which supports a low output moving coil cartridge, either a step transformer (SUT) or a compatible phono pre-amp will need to be added. 100 ohms minimum. 40 ohms with a transformer. I would like to inform me about fit the 103R at my Technics SL1200GR.I have seen an extra weight in a special headshell and i also saw in the normal Technics Headshell.Which is the best and where can i found the special headshell with the extra weight ?

Asked by: Lambros
Hello, As we do not have any listing of compatible headshells for Technics turntable tonearms, I suggest enquiring with either Technics or with a Technics audio forum as to which headshells work best for a DL-103R.

Does DL-103R or DL-103 worrks with Denon amplifer Denon Pma-850? And does they fit with turntabe Optonika rp7100, effective mass of tonearm 16g?

Asked by: Mr Ernst
Hello, Yes - the PMA-850's phono stage can support the DL-103R or the DL-103. A 16g tonearm is on the lower side of medium mass for such a device, so you shouldn't have any issues with pairing a DL-103R or a DL-103 cartridge. What works in your favor is the fact the RP700 has a removable headshell (if indeed it still has the stock arm). This means if you wanted to lower the tonearm mass further, you should be able to find a lighter headshell, as headshells are made of a wide range of matrials these days.

Dear authority, I have a 103R with a broken cantilever. Is it possible to fix and/or retip this cartridge. Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

Asked by: Lilli
Hi Lilli, There are outfits which claim to offer fixes for such things. As we haven't used any of them, we are not in a position to offer any recommnedations. We do not offer this type of service ourselves.
