Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full featured, value priced, decent quality. (Purchased from Best Buy) Super value priced for use in my office two-channel music system. Program sources are Apple AirPlay streaming, HEOS, Internet radio, FM and occasionally audio CDs. Blue tooth capability will be a back-up to Apple Airplay. After brief burn-in, I am very pleased with my choice. I have set the tone profile to Pure Direct. This is not a top-end receiver, but it is also priced at 1/20 the cost of a McIntosh receiver. As a value proposition, it does the job - admirably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Amplifier for a top system I purchased the amplifier for my home entertainment to go with my older Denon speakers and allow an HDMI link to a Roku and Apple streaming system. The installation was a breeze and the sound is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AVR-S660H - so much bang for your buck and WOW! You can't beat this with a stick, it's a great product and works very well. This is my first Denon and it does not disappoint, it does all I wanted and more, easy setup, sounds fabulous and it shipped faster than expected. I really did like the sound setup and microphone stand included it made it much easier to place. It drives my 5.1 and large SW perfectly, the dishes shake sometimes LOL - yes it's that good. Superb picture quality - this won't be my last Denon..

Questions

New purchase and having issues with HDMI connectivity, mainly communication between Telus optik, receiver, and Panasonic TV. Worked great first day, but now occasionally getting grey screen and HDCP 1001 Errors. Fix is unplug receiver and TV to reset.

Asked by: TruckerJim
Hello, HDCP 10001 errors typically suggest their is a potential copywrite infringement issue. This might be pertaining to the type of HDMI cables being used. We recommend HDMI Version 2.0 or Version 2.1 (Ultra High Speed) from a reputable brand (such as Audioquest) for the best results. It could otherwise be to do with the equipment in use. HDCP compliance is required with HDMI connectivity. If you are still experiencing this symptom, fere is a link to our Product Support Team. Are there any software updates to use Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization or DTS Virtual X?

Asked by: Rafa
Hello Rafa, Unfortunately, the AVR-S660H is a five channel AV receiver. An AVR would need to be at least a seven channel AVR, and to already have other necessary components in it's circuitry to be able to offer Dolby Atmos or height virtualization. The AVR-S770H is suitably equipped for Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X. Here is a link with the details: https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/avr-s770h/300777-new.html

Would this receiver be enough power for the klipsch r 820f towers and the klipsch r41-c center? Both towers are 150 watt rms and my center is 100 watt rms all 8 ohms. Or should I go bigger?

Asked by: Dylans
Hello, The AVR-S660H will drive your Klipsch speakers and go quite loud, but if you have a room which isn't small, or if you like to crank the volume up beyond moderate levels, it is wirth considering, the further up our AVR line you go, the more control the AV receiver will have on your speakers. I suggest having a look at the AVR-X1800H (or the model it replaced - the AVR-X1700H while they are still around) as they have improved power supplies in the power amplifier stage.

What is the difference between this unit and a denon S560H?

Asked by: Keith06
Hello, The AVR-S560H is not a model in our catalog. If you mean the AVR-S570BT, the main difference is the AVR-S570BT is not a network AVR. This means is does not have a HEOS engine or support use with the internet either wired or wirelessly. Other differences include the AVR-S660H having support for 4 ohm speakers, Audyssey MultEQ auto set-up, HDR10+, Pure Direct mode,Bluetooth headphone transmission and two extra HDMI inputs.
