Rated 5 out of 5 by from Denon Must have AVR! The Denon X8500HA is a beast of an AVR. This unit makes my full Klispsch surrond speaker system sound like no other AVR I have had, I have had Onkyo, Yamaha, and Marantz, all highend units, but this Denon blows them away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from .AVR x8500HA The sound quality is great!!!! It was fairy easy to set to set up except for setting up speakers for zone 2 or 3,still trying to figure out -manual is vague on this. I have been using onkyo products for the last 20 years or so and have had some issues so I thought I would try Denon. The sound is much much better than my old units from onkyo. The picture is amazing the colors are amazing. Streaming with heos works great. My wife did not think that I needed a replacement as the old onkyo still works-she now thinks it was a great replacement and that we did need it(not just a want). Once I figure out how to get zone 2 hooked up and working -this will be a perfect avr. Denon has beat my expectations with this product. I say to anyone who is thinking about buying this avr-x8500ha -just do it.

Questions

Upgrading from 4500. Only using it for den in 2 Chanel sometimes 3. The 6800 vs 8500 which is better amp for sound. 10 watts not a big deal using Martin Logan XT60i..4 ohm. What kind of power will I get. What’s the best one? 8500 gonna be 8600 soon?

Asked by: Cagney
Hello, Owing to it's more advanced power amplification circuitry, the AVR-X8500HA is better equipped than the AVR-X6800H to bring out the best in your XT60i speakers and handling their impedance swings. How much power will be delivered is down to how much power your speakers are demanding at any specified volume level. With a sensitivity rating of 94 dB, your XT60i's will demand only a few watts to go very loud in a large room. Your Martin Logans will require a good deal of grip from the AVR to sound composed, and this is where the AVR-X8500HA has the edge over the AVR-X6800H. It's current delivery is even more stable than that of the AVR-X6800H when the going gets tough.

Playing older DVD/Blu Ray discs (Gladiator, Se7en, T2) with either DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete or Matrix, or THX's 5.1 EX, can this receiver handle/decode it correctly as older units did as these are not listed. If not what do you lose or how is it played.

Asked by: Fohead8
Hello, Yes - The AVR-X8500HA can support the earlier surround encodings on DVD/Blu-ray discs.

I recently purchased the AVR X8500H and currently am running 11.2 which includes 4 height speakers. I plan to add a CH, TS, TML and TMR speakers. I am assuming I will have to use the Audessey setup to get the new speakers integrated correctly?

Asked by: wstonejack
Hello, To boost how the AVR-X8500H performs with your speakers, we recommend using Audyssey once have your speakers all in place. The optional Audyssey app provides extra user control over what is already provided. The optional Audyssey MultEQ X computer software takes Audyssey to a level which can maximize a system's performance.

could process 15 chanelс with external amplifiers.?

Asked by: Ivan B
Hello, The AVR-X8500HA can process 13.2 channels. It has pre-outs for 15 channels, but that is so you can switch between two configuration presets when using external power amplification. For example; you could have one speaker configuration in your room where it's set-up to support a Dolby Atmos feed, and another where it supports an Auro 3D feed.

Why does it have 15 sets of speaker terminals?

Asked by: Bob90210
Hi Bob, After allocating 13 powered channels to the AVR-X8500HA, we decided to add an extra pair of speaker terminal for convenience for those who have more than one speaker configuration in their room, or for those who have 13 speakers in their main Zone and also a pair in Zone 2 - this allows the user to switch between the configurations with the remote without having to re-wire.

What will be the power for 2 channel in 4ohm

Asked by: Alej
Hi Alej, We have yet to measure a maximum output with 2 channels at 4 ohms, but the AVR-X8500HA is well-equipped to deal with a 4 ohm load from a wide range of speakers.
